Services
We are a team of experienced breastfeeding professionals – pediatrician, Dr. Aviva Lowe, and IBCLCs, Jandy Beresford and Mehjabeen Tirupattur – offering comprehensive lactation care to families, both prenatally and postnatally.
At each breastfeeding appointment:
You will spend quality and informative one-on-one time with the IBCLC, who will help with latching technique and overall management of breastfeeding.
You and your baby will also see the pediatrician who, together with the IBCLC, will develop a comprehensive feeding plan that takes into account your unique situation and challenges as well as any underlying medical issues in you and your baby, all with the aim of helping you reach your feeding goals.

At present, we are working out of the offices of Sages-Femmes Rouge Valley Midwives, Diversity Midwives, The Midwives Clinic of East York – Don Mills, and Midwives Collective of Toronto. We are typically at each location once every two weeks.
To compliment our in-person consultations, we offer virtual follow-up appointments as needed.

Jandy Beresford, IBCLC
Jandy Beresford, IBCLC has been interested in breastfeeding since she had her first baby. From the very first week she began attending a breastfeeding support group at the local hospital, she was hooked! In 2014 she began training to become an IBCLC and completed a program that included 100+ instructional hours taught by lactation consultants and pediatricians, 750+ clinical hours working hands on with breastfeeding families directly supervised by lactation consultants along with other training and projects. She certified as an IBCLC in 2018.
Since certifying Jandy has worked at a large breastfeeding clinic, doctors offices, dental offices and in her thriving private practice in Durham and East Toronto.
Aside from breastfeeding, Jandy is also passionate about Babywearing and loves to show new parents the joys of cuddling your baby hands free!
Jandy is excited to partner with her colleagues to continue to support local families to meet their feeding goals.
Mehjabeen Tirupattur, IBCLC
Mehjabeen grew up in a large extended family, and always gravitated towards caring roles. After her undergrad in nursing, it was apparent that she enjoyed supporting families in the transition to parenthood. Mehjabeen is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She trained at a large breastfeeding clinic in Toronto. She completed 600+ mentored hours under the supervision of IBCLCs and pediatricians. She has experience managing many breastfeeding and latching issues, including assessing for tongue/lip ties, flange fitting as well any pumping concerns. Since certifying in 2019, she has worked in different clinical settings including a multidisciplinary practitioner setting, dental office, and in private practice in the GTA.
